Help: Just got 1st pair *good* speakers, but not sure what's so great..?

66.65.92.167

I've slowly the past few months, with the help for people here, begun building my first good (by audiophile standards) stereo.

I got a Marantz 2015 which I absolutely love and could tell right away why it was so highly recommended and what a difference it really made in my sound quality. Literally I could tell "immediately". My old stereo was a Panasonic compact system. After I got the Marantz I continued using my same speakers that came with my compact Panasonic and frankly was always impressed with (when I compared them to anything else I heard). In added on a $100 Sony subwoofer awhile back to fill in all the lows.

Yesterday I finally bought new speakers. I've been reading about how my stereo wouldn't be complete without *good* speakers and how perhaps, if not definitely, they are the most important part of the stereo. I bought a pair of used, but good, Klipsch KG4s and was so excited to try them out. But after hooking them up they don't seem to have nearly the same sound as my cheap Panasonics with the Sony sub. I fully realize this may be since I'm not used to them, that I obviously must be wrong and will soon realize this. But am I? Seriously. When I compared them at first the Panasonics sounded more tinny but full (from the sub). But the Klipsch don't have a good bottom or top, at least to me right now. They almost sound muffled but that's pushing it, they don't sound that, I'm just concerned if my Panasonics might have been good.

Will someone please set me straight!?
