and prolly before that. Where you get/got an emotional response just from the hardware (powered up of course). When I was a kid, you didn't just listen to the FM, you also interacted with the knob and lighted dial. As if you could see back/through to the broadcast studio.

I don't mind one single LED per chassis, of whatever color (yep, prefer blue). Just as long as they're not of intergalactic brightness. And well, they aren't difficult to replace. Something I've done at least once (red to blue). And have one on tap for my phono stage (from green to blue).
