There is something going on VERY different with OptimFROG..... There seems to be less "alteration" of the performance than with any other digital medium I've tried. It almost sounds as if there is less RFI permeating the music or something.....

I also burned a CD of the Who "Endless Wire" straight from an .OFR (OptimFROG format), using Nero 7.0 (which before now left me unimpressed- I couldn't find another burner that does direct conversion), and it's even noticeable off the burned CD. I will play it on a separate system to find out if the effect is audible there.

I mean last night, I was GLUED to my PC, taking in tracks I've heard before. It is the most "un-digital" sounding digital I've heard, aside from the original Telarc Soundstream LPs.

It's not a euphonic coloration either (like the old TACT amplifiers). It just sounds more "right"......

I will go to my "acid test" in a few days- The George Szell Sibelius 2 performance from Tokyo.

I'm keeping a low tone now, just in case it's wishful thinking and placebo effect.....
