Actually John Kulkulka, the TT-1 2000 designer, shared that it was their inability to get the rights to use and modify a competent CD transport that caused the company the most difficulty.

I too thought their DAC far ahead of its time and still consider it one of the best DA converters I've ever used, and there've been more than a few...

Both John and David were both terrific people as well, and I hope they both are still doing what they enjoy.
