"The goal of HT system is to make explosions in movies rattle your windows: a Hollywood melodrama."

This is what you wrote. Your statement that you "did not say that" is factually incorrect. You did. Please do not try to revise your post because you do not want to be saddled with it.

Whether you meant something else is certainly open to discussion. But do not blame me because I give words you choose to use their ordinary, common meanings, when, in the deep recesses of your mind, you mean something else.If the words you use are left to interpretation, then that is because you failed to write with the specificity which the English language requires to be successful. If your very specific sentence above is not what you meant to communicate, then you should have written what it is you really meant.

I am not being contrary. It is not fun to reply to a post that you wrote, with very specific, direct, unambiguous language, which you must assume will happen when you post, and then have you tell me that I should not interpret your posts "literally."

"I do not, and I will not continue to write in a qualifying style and language that is NOT metaphoric."

I'll give you an example of nitpicking so you can see the difference. If I was nitpicking, I would write that you cannot continue to do something in which you do not do. Sort of like me writing that I will not continue to listen to Madonna when I never listen to her in the first place. Further, had you written this giberish in the first place, which is left to no interpretation and means nothing, then we would be okay.

"ALSO said that HT 5.1 movie sound does distract away from certain audio only surround 5.1 recordings as the nature of the rear channel information is more prominant in HT."

Not sure he has written this, as I would think that with a properly calibrated processor, which would be used for both, there would not be any difference between a home theater system or a surround sound system. Rather, any differences would be with the source material.

"It's only too obvious that I didn't mean that, but used it as a metaphor to, colorfully, describe and differentiate the two different listening experiences. So now it's time for you to say, - than why didn't you say that? Because it's much less fun.... But then, I'm sure that you're having a lovely time being a Wittgensteinian Sophist... Oh, - I think that I may have misspelled a word or two, maybe forgot a comma, please feel free to chime in and pee everywhere...."

Huh? At least some driveling philosophers are smart enough to speak vaguely and imprecisely so that nobody knows what they mean, which allows the reader to fancy themselves smart by "interpreting" their meandering prose. Here is a lesson. If you like to play philosopher, then stop using specific words such as "The goal of HT system is to make explosions in movies rattle your windows: a Hollywood melodrama." That is too specific. See, real philosophers start by using words that, when put together, mean nothing. But too obvious? Please.

"It is ONE of the reasons, and it IMPLIES that the goals of HT are different than 5.1 audio only, surround. It is not the ONLY reason, and I didn't say that, or imply that..."

So lemme see if I get this straight. Mr. Rubison writes the preceeding thoughts to your last statement, and, from his statements, I am to "interpret" such a meaning from your statement that Home Theater is all about reproducing explosions is not to be taken literally? To quote from the dictionary of the philosopher Sordidman, available at your local philosophy bookstore too vague to locate in a phonebook or store, "sheesh."

"I'm not interested in returning to my high school English class, fun for you maybe..."

You mean, you actually were in one?
