2 channel is definitely a more pure and natural way to hear music, but depending on what you listen to most recordings are not %22pure and real%22 anyway.
That is my arguement. 2 channel in an appropriate room should give you stereo imaging the way it was intented making MC un-necassary. But few homes have an appropriate room, only those that do are getting proper imaging. So by using MC stereo (multiple speakers)you may not improve on imaging but at least it'll sound better.
You don't have to use a center channel, you can turn it off. Having more speakers you can deal with L shaped rooms or whatever and at least have it sounding decent.
So unless audiophiles have the ideal stereo setup (which I would love to hear) there dislike for MC is unwarrented other than increased cost factor. I invite anyone to hear my MC setup and tell me it doesn't put to shame their conventional box speaker two-channel rigs.
Happy Listening. :)
