I heard a WONDERFUL system last night.....

One that goes to show that $$$ does not mean good sound. IT had such great synergy and musicality, I was truly impressed, so much so we just kept spinning some vinyl WAY too late into the night.

I am not going to remember every component but here goes:

Plinius Integrated amp.. from the late 90's

Music Hall MMF7 with a Hiroshi cartridge that was picked up 2nd hand VERY cheap.

Sonus Farber Electa Armatours (I know I hacked that spelling.)

Older MIT 750 speaker wire.

The room was nothing special, he had his components what seemed to be a decent rack, and he had the speakers about 6' apart and you sat about 8' from them.

That being said, The sound was wonderful, musical, and very involving. It had just about everything within reason (prat, air, detail, warmth, imaging ect...)and sure it had it weaknesses, but who the hell cares?! IT sounded like music.

I have heard much more expensive that could not match the overall presentation of this one.

I just though I would share because it amazes me everyday how much more important synergy is than price.
