As outlined in a thread below, I seemingly have a defective APC AV power filter unit.
I telephoned APC service Friday just before noon. A service representative took my word for the problem, immediately sent out a new unit ( he was in the US and I'm in Canada although they have a warehouse about 600 miles from me) and I received it today ( Monday).They are now arranging a pickup - at my house- of the defective unit to be sent to their lab in the U.S.
I mention this only to praise their service -have absolutely no connection to them or any retail outfit.
