You can't really expect the speakerphile to be that interested in headphones. Part of the reason for the lack of interest here, I think, is that you have to immerse yourself in the uniqueness of a given thing completely for a good while before you really begin to understand it's virtues. Initial impressions are'nt always enough to form sound judgements. Having become a headphile myself during the last year or so, I am beginning to believe that the brains of truly dedicated headphone listeners eventually learn to compensate for the "unnaturalness" of the headphone experience, enough so that what it is that the headphile actually hears is not easily understood by the speakerphile. Back when I was still a dedicated loudspeaker afficainado, I could not have known. Now, loudspeakers don't sound as impressive to me as they once did. I'm sure I will have to re-learn how to listen to loudpseakers again, one fine year.
