I think jj's point was that DBT methodology does not reduce the sensitivity of the audition because it has been used to establish the lowest thresholds of hearing, and that these correspond to the physical limits. This would be under laboratory conditions. Inadequate set up and controls can reduce the sensitivity and reliability of an audition, however.

If you haven't bothered to read Dr. Toole's white paper reporting (among other things) that sighted auditions of speakers tend to result in different evaluations than blind ones do, which I have linked before, that's not my fault. However, just for you, I'll link it again. You can always ask Dr. Toole to clarify anything you want to know about the DBTs.

As for the alleged "discriminations" found in high end practice, well, you, or at any rate, someone, will have to establish that they are in fact discriminations and not simply biased perception. Intelligent chips, pebbles, stones, etc.--do these result in typical high end discriminations?
