This is totally true. 10 or so years ago I was working on the sound crew for a Jackson Brown concert. We were going nuts during monitor check becuz 8-10khz feedback would occur just before we could get the vocal levels up where he wanted them. We'd get it set, he'd walk up to the mic and the feedback would take off no matter how much cut was on the GEQs. A less sensitive mic helped a little but he didn't like the tone. He joked that the maybe the sound was reflecting off his (balding) head but it really was the glasses. He switched to contact lenses and evrything was fine.
