Placebo effect

I read over the weekend of a study that showed if people took a placebo and thought it would produce a result they were able to monitor actual brain activity as if they had taken the real medication. The implications are that if you think you are hearing a change in sound there may be real neural activity that validates your belief even though there may be no real difference at all. This is objective validation of the placebo effect. Any comments?
