As another example, take the whiny nay-sayer (WNS). No matter how much you spend on your WNS, or whatever tweaks you apply to it, there is no measurable difference in the tonal quality. It still screams for "proof" with enough ultrasound content to make the cats nervous and the TV picture fuzzy. It still sneers with contempt caustic enough to etch the glassware. It still huffs and puffs and blows the dust bunnies out from under the couch.No one can cite a double-blind test where any collection of users was able to distinguish among WNSs with more than random chance of success.
