Not Best Buy stuff, but not the priciest stuff either.My system consists of:
Bryston 3BSST Amp
Bryston BP25 Preamp
2 Sony 400 Disc CD Changers
Vandersteen 3A Sig SpeakersHowever, I have spent many hours at numerous hifi salons and - when volumes are pricisely matched - have had a great deal of difficulty discerning one electronic component from the other. I too believe that much of the difference people believe they hear is imagined.
Why, then, spend so much on gear?? Well, I certainly hear dramatic differences b/w speakers. As for my amp/pre-amp, I wanted gear that would last a lifetime.
