Sharing My Views of Tube Rolling The Cayin Ta30..........,My Quest.

Hi All, " As You may all know?, I love this Amp. And, have been able to assist others with info. on various Tubes. My story is long over due. Yet, I feel it one of importance. I recieved My Cayin TA30 from a seller on Audiogon in Feb. of last year. And, upon unpacking it........,The entire Family thought it very beautiful. And & that moment I promised My Loving & very Understanding Wife, that I'd not let this one get away. I've been in search of Tubes that would enchance this Amp. to the fullest. And, I believe I've arrival at that point. In My system it really came together once I was able to listen to one of the most underrated Tubes, I've read about on any forum. The Sylvania 12AU7 " Dull Black Plate Version - Sq. Bend Getter-NOS 1957" matched with either TFK 12AX7/ ECC83 " Smooth or Ribbed Plated Versions." This combination has allowed Me to merely sit back & smile at the uncanny refinement it brings to My Emotional Enjoyment of Reproducing the finer aspects & tonalities which are hidden within the Music. I've tried along the way about 30 pairs of 12AU7's alone. Ranging from Amperex 12AU7 "LP - D.Getter NOS 1950's" (Holland) / BEL 12AU7 ( Made in India) / Cifte 6189/12AU7WA (France) / Matsushita 12AU7 ( Japan) / Mullard 12AU7 " Short Plate NOS 60's" (England) / NEC 12AU7 (Japan) / Philips 12AU7 "SP-NOS 1960's" (Holland) / Raytheon 12AU7 " DULL "BP" -NOS 1950's Sq. Getter" & 5814A "Windmill Getter" / RCA "ClearTop" 12AU7 & 12BH7 "Dull Black Plate - Early 50's" / RFT 12AU7 "NOS 50's Foil Getter & NOS 1970's Versions." (East Germany) / Radiotechnique 6189/12AU7WAH (France) / Siemens & Halske 12AU7 " Silver/ Chrome Plate- NOS 60's" ( Germeny)/ Tesla ECC802s "LP" NOS.60's ( Czech Rep.) / TFK 12AU7 " Both versions" ( West Germany) / Tung-Sol 12AU7 " D-Getter NOS 50/60's D Getter" & Tungsram 12AU7 & E80cc (Hungary). The best five were: #1) Sylvania 12AU7's mentioned above. #2) RFT 12AU7's #3) Tungsram 12AU7 & E80CC's #4) Tung-Sol 12AU7's #5) Raytheon 5814A. Followed by the Dull Black Plated 12AU7 version. As for 12AX7/ ECC83/ E83CC's: I've Amperex 12AX7 "SP -NOS 1960's" (Holland) / GE 5715 " 3 Mica Black Plate " / Mazda "Silver Plate" 12AX7 (France)/ Mullard "Short Plate" (NOS 1960's England) / Philips "SP" 12AX7 (Holland) / Raytheon "BP" 12AX7 / RCA 7025 "Long Grey Plate D Getter" / RFT 12AX7 / Sylvania GB 5715 "3 Mica Grey Plate w/ Gold Pins" & "BP" 2 & 3 Mica" 5715's / Tesla E83CC "SP Frame Grid NOS '73" & ECC803s "LP - NOS 60's" / Tung-Sol 7025 "D Getter" / & Tungsram 12AX7's " NOS 1960's". Of these, The Most Musical ones are: #1) Tesla E83CC #2)TFK "Ribbed plate" ,then "Smooth Plate Version" #3) Mullard "SP" #4) Tung-Sol #5) Tungsram 12AX7 NOS 1960's Versions. I know this isn't much of a review. Yet ,it's more of an attempt to share My view & opinions of an Amp. some of Us, have come too love." The Secret is in the Matching of above Tubes to find the Synergy within Your System. Also, In Power Tubes, The Best I've heard so far...............,And ,again this is in My System. Are W/ The SED =C=winged Version EL34's. Not Ei KT90 "TYPE 3's" Asa some would have Us Believe. Again, My reason for adding this Acticle is basically to assist Others, In not making costly mistakes in purchasing Tubes. " And to You All, I'm wishing Us All A Happier & Safer New Year."
