Toddlers and Hi Fi rarely mix well...

69.29.212.16

Sitting down in my listening room early the other morning, waiting for my carpool to arrive, my eyes glanced briefly at my Merlin TSM's.

Something wasn't right.

The woofer sparkled oddly in the morning light.

I jumped up with a sinking feeling.

The woofer dustcap was pushed all the way in. As if repeatedly. As if by small little fingers. Thinking I was groggy, I looked over at the other woofer. Same thing.

Talking to my wife, it turns out my boy had been temporarily banished to the listening room (usually off limits) to calm down after a small tantrum. He took it out on my Merlins. A call to Bobby confirmed the replacement costs.

Heck; while they are being repaired, they might as well be upgraded to the latest version. I am not sure whether to be angry or quietly happy at this excuse to upgrade. I can't be mad at him; he's only 2.

His current damage tally to date is about $400. When he's 18, I'll present him with tally of what I am deducting from his inheritance. With any luck, the hifi will still be in working order for him to inherit.
