I recently bought the AI M3A secondhand after auditioning it against the usual solid state competition at a friend's home. The difference in timbral accuracy, the illusion of real bodies of musicians being there as well as the dynamics was well beyond belief. I spent over 2 hours nagging my friend to sell the unit to me(he's still my friend ,I think) as I could not believe I can get better a better pre-amp. I have now had the unit at home for a few months which have proven to be very expensive months as the unit is so distinctively superior to my existing system then I ended up upgrading the rest of the other equipment. I now have Linn Lp12, Krell and Vienna Acoustics Mozart into the system and there is now finally after many years of searching, excellent music reproduction in my home. As a final accolade, the inclusion of the AI made my wife remarked from the kitchen some 40 ft away on how lifelike the music has become
