We use NiMH cells mostly. What we have found is that although they are initially 3000-3300mah when new, their ability to store reduces over time. For example, a 4.8 volt set of sub-C cells which were rated at 3300 when new actually held just over 3500mah when new. Now, 40-50 charges later, they only hold around 2500mah. We never had this problem with NiCd cells, which could often still hold full rated power after 200-250 charges. I guess that is progress for you.Our preferred cells are GP or Sanyo. They are around the most expensive but they are the best. If you want good, reliable cells go to a Radio Control specialist.
