but I think the wood looks great, especially juxtaposed with the metal. I think its a neat design feature that is both attractive and sets the equipment apart from its competitors. From a tactile perspective, it must be a lot more pleasant to turn one of those than a plastic knob. When I first read your post, I was actually wondering whether it was tongue in cheek: "you think they could afford plastic!" My guess is that those wood knobs cost a helluva lot more than their plastic counterparts would. Given a choice between plastic and wood, I'd take the wood every time. Don't we have to deal with enough plastic out there in our daily lives?

I am not a Blue Circle owner, by the way. I currently have plastic, but it's pretty uninteresting.
