Hello all, interesting site:Here's my question: I'm a college student with limited funds. I'm looking for an amplifier for some medium-sensitivity speakers (86dB Paradigms Studio 60's) that's smooth, and will let me take the volume up occasionally. I have run out of power with my 65watt/channel Harmon Kardon reciever (it was a start....), so I'm looking to raise the wattage figure, and more importantly, the quality. Price limit? About $1000, but I'd really stretching to spend that much.
I'm looking at the Acurus A100 and the A200 primarily, because of a local dealer (the only local dealer, actually). Other brands I've looked at: Rotel, NAD, Adcom (sheesh, amazing how many bad reviews Adcom generates!). I'd love to get Classe, but it's out of my price range. Thanks to all who respond, I appreciate your time.
Happy Listening,
Wheel
