I too have Swifts driven by a Unico, with an original Rega Planet CDP. My experience is that the Swifts take some substantial break-in to sound their best.....at least 100 hours, and 200 is better. The Unico sounds good "out-of-the-box", but opens up more with burn-in. I think you just need to have more patience with the combo, particularly in light of your acknowledged weak spot with the source. I can't speak for how much detail you might desire in your system, but I don't think the limiting factor at this point is the Swifts.Gerry
