recently tried out a 500va 240v in/out transformer on my sony xa777es player. really surprised at the difference it made to the sound.
anyway ive decided to get a 2.5KVA toroidal transformer to use with my amp to filter the mains. can anyone give me some ideas on how to set up a switch for it. i need to avoid blowing fuses with the in-rush current you get at switch on. i was thinking about maybe a momentary switch with a series slowblow fuse of about 10amp rating. i'd have a 13 amp circuit breaker in parallel and after using the momentary switch to 'trickle' in current i could then flip the circuit breaker in circuit to maintain the connection.
does this seem like a sound solution or am i talking rubbish??
i dont know what system companies like Isotek use. theres no way im forking out 1500 pounds for one of their units when i can buy a transformer for £150!
any ideas much appreciated.
