My CES favorites

Just got back from Vegas yesterday. Great show! I've read a few of the CES posts on this forum, and they have been great at describing the stuff at the show. However, I've got to say that my favorite stuff at the show hasn't really been mentioned...maybe I've got a more "mainstream" ear, but here's a list of the stuff I was impressed with:

-Balanced Audio Technology reference setup driving Wilson WATT Puppy 7. Every show I have ever gone to in the last 2 years, I have been utterly impressed with BAT equipment. This time, it stunned me even more because I usually am not a fan of the WATT Puppies, but the sound this system produced was my favorite at the show hands down.

-Piega C3 LTD/Rives Audio acoustic room correction EQ. I had never really heard Piega speakers before, so I had no real expectations. The Piega C3 LTD produced a very smooth, warm, and dynamic sound with great detail and accuracy. The Rives Audio acoustic room correction EQ was also a pleasant surprise...didn't think it was doing much until they turned the unit off. Then the issues with speaker placement in the cramped Alexis Park room were really noticeable.

-Hovland Radia/Lumin-White. I heard the Lumin-White speakers at THE Show in the Acoustic Dreams room and was less than impressed...not that they didn't sound great, but for the price they seemed disappointing. Not so in the Hovland room...the Hovland Radia/Lumin-White combination sounded fabulous. Was surprised to learn that the Radio was a solid state amp, especially from Hovland...
