Our expenses for music and gear have been responsibly within our budget. I get new recordings when I want and have upgraded the equipment infrequently (and I don't really feel a compelling need to upgrade at this point).The last speaker, amp., and CD player upgrades were very much appreciated by my wife, especially the speakers. She did not feel the need for the addition of the subwoofer as much as I did. Otherwise, my rating would be a "10".
