Yeah Abe, I guess "gave" might be subject to interpretation. You see, at our age, we sometimes learn that "if ya can't beat em, join em!" Actually, she is really special. She is smart enough to realize a few things:1. spending money on audio keeps me home where she knows where I am and what I am doing;
2. the joy I get from audio makes Frank a happy person who then is a better, more generous, more accommodating person for HER;
3. that I have my separate interests, that I need my space and alone time and, therefore, she gets the same respect and freedom for her interests - making us both happier and healthier together; and
4. if she doesn't let me spend money on my audio, I will pout, throw a temper tantrum, quit taking a shower, drink to excess, do drugs, call her mother names and generally be a brat!!!
On the serious side, she sees the joy I get from this hobby, figures it's better than drinking or smoking and hangin out with my buddies at the bars, realizes how much money people spend on stuff that doesn't have the lasting power or resale value of audio, and last, but certainly not least, she likes music a hell of a lot too!
