I know precisely 'who' philefreak is. So I also know that he did not compare the two brands side by side. He had one of our amps a year ago- but he only just now says that he got the Tenors. No side by side audition took place and that's simple fact.

As Wellfed points out, there was no attempt to diss you last summer either. I was simply asking for the results to come from a controlled proper audition, which IMO you did not do.

To give you a little background, the Wilson speaker that you had at the time has a rising impedance at high frequnecies, which the MA-2 would ignore. However, the Tenor, which is straining to do a proper job on the Wilsons, would exhibit a livelier high end, which is what you liked. Was it correct in light of the poor match between the amp and speaker? That's the question. You chose to think that I was dissing you, which I felt was unfortunate and I am very sorry that you felt that way as I have and had no ill will.

One does have to ask why philefreak felt he had to mention Atma-Sphere when he had not heard the amp in a year or so, especially since we've made improvements in that time, and didn't have the two brands side by side. Logically there was no reason to bring Atma-Sphere into it at all. So why did he feel he had to mention us? Thus the troll warning.

If it helps, John Giolas of Wilson Audio has had MA-1s since last year and this year and obtained a set of Tenors when he upgraded to the MA-2s fairly recently. So he got to compare all three amps side by side. Why not give him a call and get his impressions? He has the same speakers you had, although he may have upgraded to a later version. Being a third party he's got no vested interests.
