truth in advertising? not in audiophile land!

Just saw the item in yesterday's news. Some charlatans have been marketing devices 'to protect the cell-phone users from the microwave radiation'. Now FCC is after them, and for good reasons - those devices don't do a thing (for their users, that is)

Yet in audiophile land you can get away with murder (figuratively speaking). Starting with 'CD demagnetizers' and ending with 'Speaker cables cured for 4 months ... which guarantees slow molecular diffusion ... better soundstage ... blah blah blah ... only $2500 per foot'.
