See my system in the inmate section for an example of a combo 2-channel and HT.I use the sub for my 2-channel listening as well as HT, and only turn on the HT equipment (TV, DVD, and Processor) when I'm going to watch HT.
2-channel:
TT-> stereo preamp (remote controlled + 12v trigger for amp)
CD-> stereo preamp (remote controlled + 12v trigger for amp)
stereo preamp-> Electronic XO
XO high-pass-> L&R channels of 5 channel amp
XO low-pass-> Parametric EQ
Parametric EQ-> subHome Theater:
DVD-> DD/DTS 5.1 Processor
DVD-> 36" Direct TV
Processor L&R-> stereo preamp AUX (volume at 12 o'clock)
Processor C,LS,RS-> 5 channel amp C, LS, RS
Processor sub-> select NONEbstan
