I also have some large classical CD editions with paper sleeves. They seem to work fine. I use the same care with them as with an LP. I have always assumed the "hole" problem with jewel cases was strictly a function of the cheap plastic used in the case. When those ridiculous little tabs break or loose their spring......time to get a new case.
There is a fortune waiting for the inventer of the next jewel case. Any takers?
