Is my guess. I have a Sherwood, but it's only about 3 years old at the most and it has two sets of speaker outs, but can be switched in either singly or together. Should verify that... :-)But I have a simple on/off push button that simply says surround. All that does is simply widen the stereo spread between the two speakers, making it much wider than normal. Does imphasize the surface noises that may be present on vinyl though...
Anyway, good luck. It may be old enough that it won't take a 4 ohm speaker. Mine does though. But with the power off, I can move a switch from 8 Ohm to 4 Ohm. But I run 8 Ohm speakers so...
Anyway, have fun with it and I hope you can get all working fine.
