Hi Dan,Your's is the third Doppler post I'm responding to, just in case anyone wants to follow my comments in the order they were written.
You are basically confirming the conclusions that I had reached after reading last nights responses. I've already commented on all this in-depth and won'd do it all again here. Basically I think you've got it right as far as Kimber's approach is concerned. Still can't go along with the Klipsh theory of Doppler distortion for reasons spelled out in the original post.
Now the question becomes, what exactly is Dr. Kember doing to correct this driver blending problem? Someone suggested that he is simply bleeding a little unfiltered sound around the crossover elements. I'm very skeptical of such a seemingly simple approach. There's already a lot going on, what with dirver positioning problems and phase shift through the crossovers and on and on. Changing one parameter seems unlikely to produce positive results unless we keep all the others intact too.
Now we understand the problem, but it was tough given the unique application of the word "Doppler" and the poorly chosen examples. Now that we understand the question, what's the answer?
