Greetings Cazden,Paul Klipsh tried to eleminate Doppler distortion by using horns. The reduced cone movenent allowed by the horn was supposed to reduce the Doppler distortion. This won't work even if Doppler distortion is real distortion and not just a part of the normal way sound travels through the air, for reasons that I won't go into here. I don't know what current thinking is on how to eleminate this "problem" but as you know from my original post, I think it's a non-problem.
My current HT setup is testomony to the effect of resonances. The main speaker cabnets have a resonance (the cabnet, not the drivers) that causes a 10dB or so spike in the response somewhere between 5 and 10 kHz. (I haven't bothered to locate the exact frequency) It's only excited ocassionally, and only when listening at high volume, but when it happens the "volume" quickly becomes too "loud" and you find yourself looking for the remote. Everyone makes a poor speaker selection once-in-a-while.
Be well,
Charles
