I never said price had anything to do with my question. I know that just because something costs more, doesn't mean that it has to be better. Usually, there is a breakover point where the costs becomes so high, you get a diminishing return on investment. I think you can (still) definitely spend more than $100 on a CD player to realize a significant return.There are so many low-buck DVD players, what makes this one sound better? Is it because it's on sale? All of these players have the same internal components, more or less, right? Toshiba doesn't even publish any audio specifications for this player. I'm sure that many 'philes (especially those that spent thousands on digital) would be surprised at how well the latest low-cost DVD players can sound. Why is the Toshiba special?
