I tried this technique after your recent post about it, and amazingly it works. Even on my lowly AMC CD8b, there's a subtle but noticeable improvement. The pausing method didn't seem to do anything during the limited experimenting I tried with it, but playing a track for 20 seconds and then skipping back to it's beginning certainly does. An interconnect upgrade I just made between my CD player and integrated has served to make the benefits of this technique even more apparent.
