Re: NAD S500 AND Rotel RCD-991 : how do you rate them ?

I compared two of them in the shop, in summary, the NAD is a warming sounding player, but a bit colored and the details and clarity is not as good as Rotel.

The Rotel, if correctly run in for ~300 hours, is a VERY netural player, so netural that it just disappear in your system.

It is not harsh, not warm, not bright ... just natural. It is very detailed and "liquid", and the dymanic and bass is excellent, and it doesn't sound "digital" at all.

So I bought the Rotel at the end of the day. I now have it for more than 3 months now, can't live without it anymore ....

But do let it run it first .....
