The real way to clean a laser is to open the box , use something like a commercial lens cleaner or alchohol (ethyl - pure) on a q-tip and gently wipe the lens , wipe dry with another q-tip (GENTLY) and use a puffer or a soft clean brush to remove any residual lint.
Anything else , like a cd with bristles etc wont work as well as this.
