I think it needs cleaning because out of the blue yesterday the CDP would start occasionally skipping and making a funny noise when playing CDs ---{which might simply be a by-product of the actual skipping itself}--- and I'm the type of person who likes to look at the simplest problems first and one-by-one eliminate them as I move on to more difficult issues that might be causing my problem! Obviously a dirty laser would be the simplest problem that might be causing my CDP's present issue of occasionally skipping, no?
