yeah, that's the plan. it's a bit involved as the clamp is buried under a mountain of solid copper and circuit boards, but it seems nearly every DV-09/DV-S9 you see on ebay... either are listed as "for parts/repair" because of a "scraping sound"... or they are sold, then the new buyer relists them as "for parts or repair" with a "scraping sound" LOL!
the instructions from the seller thankfully DO NOT have me taking off all the copper and circuit boards, but i do have to remove the front and side panels, manually slide a cd in as a spacer, then slide a small flat screwdriver between the "copper sandwich" to the clamp mount and gently push down on the mount at 3 points (not the clamp itself).
how the hell did these things make it all the way from japan when new? they probably got more delicate in their near 20 years of existence.
