Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

it's hard to believe this is a CD player from the "stone age".

Hi !
congratulations for your project !
Digital is a strange "beast".
I had a similar experience with another player from the stone age of digital, the Grundig cd7500.
A great transport but i read a 14 bit effective dac.
Still at an audio market of vintage equipment i was struck but the thickness of its sound. It was playing a piano recording. The piano was so solid and convincing that i was very impressed.
The lack of a remote control and the fear of possible issues with the old transport made me think a little too much.
When i went back to buy it it was gone. What a sound.

Regarding your player i have found some information at the link.

" But B226S - this has the famous TDA1541A-1by some considered the best ever "

add to that a solid transport and voil
Kind regards,
bg
