I bought the 105D for the flexibility to go directly to an amp in some future application, as I have in previous applications. I tend to keep equipment for a long time and to move it from one setup to another, so the flexibility is worth the added cost. I recently installed the Cary Cinema 12 the Bryston SP3 replaced in a secondary setup that had previously used a 105 direct to the amp.
