That gizmo looks very similar to a Monoprice one I've already tried. The monoprice gives 2CH analog but baulks at giving PCM 2Ch stereo because the cannot properly decode the HDMI signal. I hope the Atlona on its way will be better but I'm not sure so am looking at any other possibilities.

What can be more subjective than music? It reflects our personal tastes and preferences.
