The clue for searching was "lip sync" and that led me to discover quite a few units that were available in the past but many are now discontinued. I had hoped to latch on top a used unit and did discover two Alchemy 2 ones but never got responses so they were either sold or withdrawn.
It has literally taken hours to track all this down - just as well I'm retired!

It is not ideal as it has the complication of only Toslink in and out but a couple of converters will fix that. [The benchmark DAC1 originally had a Toslink input but that was removed when it was modded].
This unit is not remote controlled but that is not important as once the delay is set with the buttons no further adjustments should be needed. And I'm not too fussed about any possible AQ loss as it will be only for TV input + these tired old ears have hearing problems anyway. Such is life!!
