I'm reaching for my wallet again!
I tried the 2 week trial of the Wyred4Sound Remedy and could not hear very much if any difference with the two DACs that were then in my system when used with my SONOS Connect.
But have since upgraded to a MUCH better DAC and I am sure the upgraded Connect would be better that just the CONNECT/Remedy combination as there is more done to the Connect regards PS, etc.
So my wallet is getting very nervous.
Do you use your CONNECT with WiFi/Wireless or Ethernet?
SONOS has been a nightmare with my current ISP which while fast enough (15Mbps) MOST of the time but not continuously. It does start-stop-start-stop, albeit the average is still fast enough to qualify as the 15Mbps that I pay for.
This works fine with a TIDAL player on a computer as TIDAL sets up a large cache to load to and play from, loading a whole 5 minute track in just a few seconds even with hesitations in the stream as it's loading.
Same with QOBUZ which you can watch load a track in real-time and to a lesser extent also ClassicsOnlineHD.
Sadly, the internals of the SONOS system seem to have have only meager internal cache(anyone know?). This can be tested by seeing how fast music stops when you cut off your internet at the router about half way into a 5 minute track. Player apps on my computer will continue to the end of the track in most cases I've tried while the SONOS just stops dead. :-(
First they came for the dumb-asses
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a dumb-ass
