The CD3 has one of the better transports platforms, the Philips CD-Pro VAU1252 (its implementation notwithstanding). Certainly, clocking strategies involving outboard DACs will be integral to good performance with third-party DACs (as Ken points out below), but it is definitely a keeper as far as I can tell.
