RE: Esoteric DV 60 Transport

The transport, like all in the Esoteric range, was not sourced wholly as an OEM item from another manufacturer such as Pioneer NB: you can always tell a Pioneer transport as the disc is inserted upside down compared to other players. After all Esoteric's parent company Teac, is one of the biggest remaining silver disc transport manufacturers in its own right. The transport in the DV60 is the Teac VOSP.

Teac have discontinued manufacture of all transports that support SACD except for their most expensive Neoteric range. This is due to the limited remaining availabilty of the Sony sourced SACD decoding chip. There is now no universal player or transport in their current range.

Please try to establish if the entire transport needs replacing or if it just a component such as the optical pickup unit. This will cost you less and is a feasible fix. Finding a replacement complete transport may prove difficult in current circumstances. Perhaps Esoteric itself or their local distributor has a stock retained solely for repairs,perhaps not.
