Kinergetics: a blast from the past!

Summer of '85. I'm a year out of college working for my mom and dad's attorney while waiting to go to law school and saving some money to buy something finally on my own.

Since the HK-91 was out of the question, I focused my efforts on a nice stereo and went to the infamous Sound Center down the street in Woodland Hills, CA, to start learning about this stuff.

I remember that they sold Kinergetics and had a preamp there that was kind of the rave. The story told to me was that Kinergetics made sonar/sound amplification/processors for our US Navy submarines and then used the technology to branch out into HiFi, but I can't verify this.

I ended up buying the David Hafler DH 110/220 pre/amp kits and building those, which worked well for me for over a dozen years.

Thanks for the link.

Carry on.

Chris
