CD Player or DAC recommendations

Hi. I am looking to obtain a really good DAC or CD player with USB input for my stereo system. I am very pleased with my other components but have been waiting on buying high quality digital gear until the technology fully matures. My amp is a restored McIntosh MC-2105 (ss), my preamp is a Primaluna Prologue 3 (tube), and I use Vienna Acoustics bookshelf speakers. The system has a warm, powerful sound, and I am hoping to find a digital source to match. I tried a friend's Marantz SA-8005 CD player and thought it sounded wonderful in this system, but I am looking for other options that might be even better. My price range tops off around $2000, and I am open to new or used options. Can anyone recommend units I should audition? I listen to all genres of music (especially jazz, chamber music, experimental rock, etc.), but not much large orchestral stuff.
