RE: Audio-GD Master 7 vs Metrum Hex

Being a Hex owner myself & an Orchestral music listener I never really considered
how "dynamically open " sounding it was. I think the Hex is pretty amazing in how analog
sound it can be, but as far as Dynamics are concerned I think my Equi-Tech 1.5Q line
conditioner is responsible for allowing the Hex to pass them.

I had been using a PSA PP500 previous to the Equi-Tech. I was taken back by how much
my Noise Floor appeared to drop & how the transients of notes were quite a bit different from
what I had believed them to be on anything I listened to. I spent 4 hours 1 night early on,
having the 1.5,trying to find a recording that I didn't think sounded more acoustically natural !
I gave up ! (I gained a new respect for Recording Engineers that night, simply for the fact microphone placements made themselves more evident).

In all honesty, for Orchestral recordings to sound dynamically correct it has to sound slightly
"Raw" (Not harsh or steely sounding though) . More recordings than you would think get
this closer than you've normally heard them .

If the Master 7 appears to be handling things a bit better Dynamically it speaks volumes of
how good it must sound ! Enjoy it !
