Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Does ASRC (upsampling) hurt pass band ripple in general?

By internet search, I found an interesting frequency graphs.

Cambridge Audio Dacmagic Plus uses "up sampling to 384kHz" (ASRC). Apple iPhone 5 does not advertise "up sampling."

The frequency response graph of Cambridge Audio Dacmagic Plus is far more wiggly than that of Apple iPhone 5.

From the 384kHz figure, I guess Cambridge Audio Dacmagic Plus uses in house ASRC resulting in more pass band ripple than off the shelf ASRC chips (usually used to upsample to 192kHz, not 384kHz).

P.S.: The passband ripple spec is +/- 0.008dB on Texas Instrument SRC4392. I do not know whether V90 DAC has this chip or some other ASRC chip. SRC4392 is an 24bit/192kHz chip not a 32bit/192kHz chip (Cirrus Logic 8421 is a 32bit/192kHz chip).
