CAL CL-15 owners

My question to owners or ex-owners of California Audio Labs CL-15 CD player: I recently acquired this player from my son. The player had scratches on top of the cover. I found a tech specializing in powder painting (coating), removed the cover and brought it to the powder painting shop.

The tech did an excellent job, and I settled down to fix the cover in hope that I will enjoy an excellent sounding player which also looks like new.

No way! I could not install the cover! It appears that one side of the cover has two lugs which should enter two barely visible slots, and the sides of the cover should be bent with great force, and I decided to give it up for better times.

As a result, two scratches appeared on the sides of the cover, and I just don't know what I should do to assemble the player.

I remember when I sold a similar player ten years ago, the buyer insisted that he drive me to his tech and if everything is OK, he would buy it on the spot.

They checked the sound and opened the cover. I remember that it was uneasy task to assemble it, but don't remember how they did it.

Thanks in advance for recommendations.
